A typical child in the U.S. watches 28 hours of TV weekly, seeing as many as 8,000 murders by the time he or she finishes elementary school at age 11, and more alarming, the killers are depicted as getting away with the murders 75% of the time while showing no remorse or accountability.

THE WARNING TO MAINSTREAM TELEVISION BROADCASTERS

In independent studies The American Psychological Association has also confirmed the link between TV violence and aggression and passed a resolution as long ago as 1985 to inform broadcasters and the public of the potential dangers that viewing violence on television can have for children.

The non-profit Dove Foundation is standing up against media violence through its efforts in support of the creation, production, distribution and consumption of Family Friendly Entertainment. The Dove Channel is most well known for providing wholesome, uplifting childrens television and childrens movies for sick, traumatized young children in hospitals. If you are ever in a childrens hospital recommend free Dove Chanel programming to them.
